Working for free

Yes if you work here you will do many things that you are not paid for. They will tell you it is all inclusive in the package you are paid for the miles you drive. It very well may be and this is why the pay is really not much when you put it into perspective. If you track the hours you work a week and then what you are paid, unless you are real lucky you will rarely make more than $10 an hour. Of course this equals to all straight time as there is no overtime on the miles that you drive.
You will be told by the company that you are not working that much and to log it different if you think you are. I do not care how it is logged, if I have to be there with the truck and load, I am working. I am not counting the time that I am sleeping, eating or showering, though during this time I am not really free to go very far. If you were to count that as well you would make about minimum wage if you were lucky. As an example of time you are not working is when they are loading or unloading your truck. Granted you cannot go anywhere or do anything, but your are not working either.
