Yes it has been a while since I have posted, still here though

OK I have been with Werner for over a year and am still there. With the end of this year near I have made over $45,000. I do not feel this to be all that bad. However there is a down side to this as well. There have been very few weeks in this past year that I have worked less than 60 hours. When you do the math the hourly rate is not really that good. If you consider the time you are away from home and factor those hours in as well the rate is down right crappy. I have taken one week off, one week I took 4 days off, and have had two days in a row off maybe 4 times in the year. Other than that it is a 6 day week every week. Unless it falls on my scheduled day off (and none do) all holidays are worked.

60 hrs per week?

I would think that 60 hours per week would really run you down to nothing. How do you keep going, week after week, month after month? I find it tiresome driving a car for more than about 6 hours per day, and even then, not 6 days a week, for a whole year. Much less everything else it takes.

And if you had to do it over again, knowing what you do now, would you have done anything different?

Your Update

Starch,

Thank you for the update.

You made good money, but you earned every penny of it. I know "working" at Werner can be tough.

I hope the best for you and your family. Have a great New Year.
